It's only a big deal on a bad trade....not when people give players to other teams. No matter the reason!

I think this is totally fine. If I was MIL I'd do the same thing.

May retract my claim since I was never announced the winner Some weird shit. You don’t reply to any trades or PMs so I let you have him. Now that you get him for free you’re gonna retract? What was the point of claiming other than blocking any possible trade I could do because you have a personal problem? In your favorite words, The optics are bad on this

If he doesn’t go to San Diego I’m out. Not gonna have people blocking waiver trades over personal issues.

When you can reply to me via text, then maybeeeeee I’ll communicate with you.
And I was never awarded the claim officially, so I don’t see what the big deal is.
At the end of the day, I was never giving you anything as his contract is high.

I asked Brian and Chris if I could retract the claim if I wanted to since I wasn’t awarded it yet. Brian told me he doesn’t see why not.
I’ve been debating it. If I can’t, then I’ll just take the player on. It’s not remotely a big deal to me

I don’t get it. Isn’t a huge risk of claiming the guy that you might get stuck with him? I literally went to the waiver rules in the constitution before making my claim for this EXACT reason, and it’s clearly stated that you can’t retract a claim once it’s been made.

My bad, fellas.
Sounds good. I'll take a 7/7/13/7 hitter for free then.

My question was that if you did put in a claim, and it was never announced who had won the claim due to the timing of it...then why couldn't you pull it beforehand?
I think that's a legitimate question, no?

I think that's a legitimate question, no? I don’t know why it would need to be announced. Until another team in the same league with a worse record claims him, or waiving team pulls him back, he’s yours
