Well Braves fans the 2005 season finally has come and while most of the Braves qualify for AARP (especially the starting pitching) they came out and had a pretty good 2 weeks to open up April.
They rattled off 10 wins in the 14 starts with the only starter to lodge a loss was Chuck Smith. Some minor injuries hit the starters too, with Greg with a strained back and Abbot getting a blister on his middle finger, but with a 5 deep staff the team really didn’t mis a beat.
Maddux wasted no time getting the win he needed to reach 400 wins, getting it in his first start. Atlanta's right-hander gained immortality by recording his 400th win in the big leagues. Maddux went 9 innings. He allowed 0 earned runs , giving up 6 hits while striking out 2 and walking 0 earned runs. His career features a 2.08 ERA, along with 3690 K's in 5029 innings. 'I'm out of words. I'll probably realize it tomorrow, but for now I'm done.' He has won 20 games 14 times in his career, setting a career high with 26 wins in 1993. The Hall of Fame is already waiting for this great player.

What is really concerning so far is how bad the relievers have been besides the closer Valverde, who notched 6 saves in the 10 wins, with a 0.00 ERA.
