In a recent press conference to discuss the upcoming 2008 season, Pittsburgh Pirates Owner, Josh J just didn't seem to remember ever being in Houston.
With the news breaking in the middle of the off season that the Astros were rebranding as the Pirates but getting to keep their team in the city had fans, players, and the Commissioner in fits of confusion.
Whomever gets drafted at #9 this year will have been traded from the Pirates to the Astros but will still be a Pirate. Cliff Lee is still trying to figure out his travel arrangements.
"We are the Pirates. I have been to Dallas but I don't know what you are talking about Houston for. No, I don't recall ."
On and on it went for 45 minutes. The man seemed to have no knowledge of the Pirates being the Astros, only a few days ago.
"We have a rich winning way here in Pittsburgh.". He continued, but when pressed about how many of the championship trophies he remembered, "I do not recall."
All he seemed to remember was Three River Stadium is a terrible stadium and that Black and Gold really are the best colors in the world.
After 45 minutes he did take 5 minutes to make fun of the Yankees and how they have no money.
