Braves October Part III
Well the Braves made it back to the show, first time since 2000 win they last won a ring, and going against the Mariners, the team that handed them their first World series loss. Seattle had previously last won in 2005.
Game one Smoltz was the hard luck loser giving up two runs and Seattle won 2 – 1 on the Back of Pineiro.
Game two was more of the same with the cagy vet Maddux picking up the loss giving up three vs Burnett who had a complete game shutout. With the loss the Braves were then down oh two in the series.
With the series shifting to Atlanta and the Braves desperate for a win, they finally got one, scoring the winning run in the bottom of the 9th with two outs.
Game four had Smoltz dominate the Mariners until he got injured in the 6th inning, however with Pineiro giving up 6 runs in just over 4 innings of work, the Braves were able to cruise to tie up the series.
