Well Braves fans, the start of the season is underway and so far the New Look Braves are looking pretty good.
the youngsters of the pitching staff are 5-2 with 5 Saves, with Hartzell and Corbett being outright studs, as both have sub 1 whip ratings.
New addition H Parker is 2-0 and will be interesting to see if he is around with the Braves at the end of the season, as we've been hearing Robinson is about to be called up.
Dale Murphy waited a day to get his first hit on 4/4, and has 3 dingers in the first 15 games along with 9 SB tying him with Richards for the most on the team. Speaking of Richards he was moved to RF this year and with Mookie in left, the Braves have a brand new outfield. Mookie has started out nicely with a 292 avg but only has 1 SB. With all of them 25 or younger, this trio will be together for a long... long.... time.
The other newcomer to the team is C Steve Yeager who is batting 309 and has 2 dingers too. What has been surprising to all is his play behind the plate which is much improved over last year and he is throwing runners out 42% of the time which is way above Nolan's 24% last year.
Nolan has moved to a 1B platoon with Willie Horton who returned to the team via FA after being traded away last year to Baltimore. So far it has been working out as between them they have 4 dingers and 16 rbi's
It'll be interesting to see how this season unfolds in the NL East.
