So the Braves went out and got a big bat (no not Peter North) in Mr October Reggie Jackson. If the early results are any indication this was what was needed to push the Braves from a pretty good team, into a contender. Since arriving on the team, the Braves have been 12-2, but the true test is how they will do when facing the Padres, Pirates and Cubs. Teams had started pitching around Murph as there really wasn't a consistent threat to go deep besides him, and now if they pitch around Murph, they just put someone on base for Jackson to knock home. The Braves are still more dominant on the road then at home, but for the first time since taking over the Braves, brianh has the team winning better than 53% of the home games. The question that will be answered soon enough is, is this a fluke or are the Braves actually pretty good... In other news. Harry Parker has been paying great dividends whenever he takes the mound against anyone... other than the philly's. In 8 games against everyone else he is 6-1 with a 1.61 ERA, against the Philly's... 0-0 8.18ERA... Could Jackson's bat be making a difference with the Atlanta Pitchers, or is it just who they have been playing. In the 14 games before Jackson arrived the pitching staff had a team era of 4.00, and in the 14 games since his arrival, the team era is 2.21...
