Hey Braves fans!
So the 1979 mid season classic had three Braves make it, including rookie of the year candidate Dale Murphy
Through 85 games he is hitting 275 with 14 home runs, but in the tops of the NL with RBI's and runs 66 and 62 respectively. On top of everything else he does he also has 40 stolen bases. Defensively he has 199 po, 3 a and 1 double play and only a single error in CF with a .995 fielding %.
Right fielder Gene Richards also was selected to his first AS game.
He is currently hitting .329, with 9 home runs, leading the league with 47 stolen bases, and has crossed home plate 57 times. Currently he is on pace to have at least 90 stolen bases for the season. Defensively he has a .992 fielding percentage in right field and while his arm is not quite as strong as Murph's it is still plenty damn strong.
Coming out of the draft, there was no doubt that Murph and Gene would be all stars, but the final member of the NL AllStar team Doug Corbett, was never forecasted to be anything above someone that might appear in a game.
Last season was a nightmare for the closer, but this year, he has been the man of the hour anytime he touches the ball... other than in the all star game . Out of 27 save opportunities, he has 26 saves, while collecting an additional 5 wins, with a paltry 1.19 ERA. With just past half a season behind him, he has already bypassed his save total from last year.
that said, Braves fans, I know why all of you tune in week after week and the current #1 in the land is
holy jesus fuck... I hope to never hear this again
