Well Braves fans, did the 79 season, just have a reality check? A five game losing streak against the surging Reds, and the 2nd place Pirates in the central, has management losing sleep. This team has been excelling at winning the close games and going toe to toe with the best teams in the league, and then this.
Is the sky falling, how does a team have four straight losses by a single run. Is the coach to blame? Are the good times behind us this year? Will there be more good time this year? Only time will tell if the feel good Braves have more good times coming this year.
Last year the Braves set a record for attendance and this year because of all the good times at the ball park attendance is projected to crush last years record crowd. The Braves still have a commanding lead in the East, however it will evaporate in no time if they continue with many more 2-5 weeks.
The last two losses of the week were to the Cincinnati Reds, a team with some really good pitching that should have them in a position to contend for the Central crown for many a season, as some outstanding batters are coming up from the minors. The Central looks to be the hotbed of competition for the next couple years, just remains to be seen if any team has the firepower to get past San Diego, and have some good times in the World Series.
