The 1982 NL Cy Young went to Atlanta's very own John Fulgham.

In 33 games started, he won 23, and only lost 2 with a 1.69 era

This Brave announcer is beginning to think the Back to Back Brave Cy Young winners might also have something to do with Skipper hiring Leo Mazzone back in 79.

Unfortunately for Fulgham, he didn't get a WS ring to go with his CY like Seaver did in 81.

When searching for the pic of Fulgham I noticed a google searcg which brought up an reported 39 pitch shutout by him, which is a fun story to read.

but equally impressive in the story was

Fulgham, a Pattonville grad, had two years and 33 starts in the majors, all with the Cardinals. He won 10 games in his rookie season and 14 games overall -- and every one of them was a complete-game.

Yep, would have won 4 but the school for the blind figured out I could actually see and I was kicked off the team. But those three seasons I was unhittable... as were the other pitchers, but I had way fewer walks
