Well Braves fans, here are the Braves backing into the post season, finishing it up with a 4-5 record over the last 9 games.
To Start the season, they raced out to a 53-21 record, and then around the start of Summer they started being just slightly better than average, posting a 51 - 37 record over the last 88 games, and 16-15 since September 1st.
The Count, was a 20 game winner, the 5th Brave to do that since Seaver in 81. Rookie phenom Greg MaddUx finished the season, 12-13 with a 3.46 ERA, something tells me we will be hearing his name a lot in the coming years.
Mid season pickup R. Dressler has been amazing since taking over Matlack's starting spot, allowing only 8 runs in 7 starts.
Brouhard and Roenicke both blasted at least 30 dingers, and Brouhard also had over 100 RBIs.
Richards, Wiggins, Washington, and Redus all had over 50 steals, as this team lead the league in stolen bases swiping 329 total as a team.
Robinson and the Count, both had sub 2.00 ERA's which when you look league average of 3.81 and they were both almost a full 2 points lower, is pretty impressive.
Corbett, was Corbett, and even though he was out injured for a month, still lead the league in saves.
All and all the team is still a solid team, but the way they have been playing the last month doesn't bode well. Overall on the season, the Braves were 25-21 against the other teams that mad the playoffs, so if the Braves are to repeat their past glories it'll likely be contested every step.
