Well Baseball fans, the excitement is in the air, as to where will we all be, come October 2.
With just 16 games left in the season, there are still some unanswered questions left to close out the season.... Will Cali win 20? Can Cleveland bring back the magic and knock of Boston for the WC spot? Can the Twinkies overtake the Reds for the number 2 pick in 88? Will anyone besides the Yankees get 100 wins? Can the Pirates continue loosing and have the most epic collapse ever?
Julio Cruz, is trying to make it interesting he needs 18 SB to eclipse 100 SB for the 5th time of his career, but only needs 11 more to get#1000 and join Carew as the only player ever to do so.
Don Mattingly has continued his assault on opposing pitchers since his contract negotiations, and now has 40 dingers on the season.
Brunansky from SD is now trying to unseat Aikens, for the crown of homers for the season, and is 1 back from Aikens, 42.
AL
East
NYY are gonna be the East Champ, that isn't going to change, and are the only team to reach 100 wins thus far.
Boston, has managed to push off Cleveland, and now again are looking to be the lock for the wild card.
Central
The Brew Crew decided not to just pack up and hide their tale between their legs, and has close to 4 games back. KCR still is driving their own car, but should they take a wrong turn, the Brewers could still pounce.
West
Seattle will wrap this up soon, but Texas still has an outside chance of being a WC spoiler
NL
West
SFran has taken the lead and is 2 up on the boys in blue, but this is still 99.9% the division that will be decided last.
Central
The Pirates are on a 6 game slide, after being a shoe in to once again win the Central, they are giving the Cards a glimmer of hope.
East
Not even the Yankees were as hot as the Braves in August, and while it started to look like the Braves were going to end the season scorching hot, this last week brought torrential rains on that idea. It is still the Braves division to loose, and even if they started a slide, the Mets would have to go on a win streak of immaculate proportion to win the East.
In an understatement, the teams that make it, winner will take it all
