We are splitting earlier to coincide with the first big movement out west. I am considering this setup: AL East: BAL, BOS, NYY, WAS AL West: CHA, CLE, DET, KCA NL East: CHN, PHI, PIT, STL NL West: CIN, LAD, MIL, SFG It would make more sense if STL and CIN switched for geographic reasons, but in 1969, when MLB realigned, that's where they were situated......

Looks good to me. Fairly balanced as well.

Oh here you go. I love wiki:
Despite the geography, the owners of the Chicago Cubs insisted that this team be placed into the East Division along with the teams in New York City, Philadelphia, and Pittsburgh. Also, the owners of the St. Louis Cardinals wanted that team to be in the same division with their natural rivals of the Cubs. Given all of this, the owners of the Atlanta Braves and the Cincinnati Reds consented to being placed into the West Division, even though Atlanta and Cincinnati are both in the Eastern Time Zone

So THAT's why the Braves were in the West division for so long...just so the Cubs and Cardinals could be together

Looks good to me. Fairly balanced as well. Actually, the more I look at the NL, it really isn't all that balanced. I know why MLB split the divisions they way they did. We don't have to do it that way, b/c rivalries don't mean as much within the game, I don't think. Just thinking out loud here.

Cubs and Cards gotta be in same division. Same with Giants and Dodgers. Wouldn't look right if those pairs weren't together.

Interesting that the NL abandoned the eastern seaboard the way it did.

Interesting that the NL abandoned the eastern seaboard the way it did. Well thankfully the Dodgers and Giants both went west so that the Mets could be born. Had that never happened, I have no clue whether I'd be a Dodgers or Giants fan today. All I know is it still wouldn't be the Yankees haha
