So a couple people have quit and others threatening to quit because of how I ran the draft / trying to fix things, Brian's "cheating," inappropriate comments from others.
So, I have to ask, should I fold the league?

I'm an asshole but also there are a lot of other assholes here as well. We all talk shit. Several other gms run their mouth and then try to play victim. It goes both ways. You can't attack someone and not expect that person to reply to you. Going forward, lets all try to get along. I really do enjoy this league and the work Chris & Brian puts into it. It would be a shame to see this shit end right after the 10 year anniversary. Again, ill tone down my bullshit. |

I find 10-15 minutes of enjoyment each day by reviewing sims and managing my team. I don’t participate on the message board much because all the negativity takes away from the enjoyment for me. The long arguments, I scan over or skip all together. From my point of view, as Dylan said, “ i become my enemy in the instant that I preach.” Joining in requires taking a position. Taking a position invites more rebuttal. I appreciate the work the commish and admins put in. Thank you. If I think you made a mistake, I will PM you personally. If I can’t live with your response, i’ll just quit. If i ever think you are cheating, I will PM you personally. if I can’t live with the resolution, I will just quit. I won’t debate it on the message board. Please don’t fold the league. However, if you do, then thanks in advance for the time you ran it and for letting me participate.

I very much enjoy this league and I would be incredibly disappointed to see it end.
The disrespectful comments and trolling has gone over board in my opinion the past half dozen seasons or so. I have been guilty myself with a few guys and I have sent PM apologies as well as public apologies in a few instances.
I don’t wish to comment publicly on any individuals at this time.
I will say at this point, I only post now when I can think I can try help answer a question. I don’t need these boards for a social outlet.
I’m in all for forgetting and forgiving and dialing back the banter for the good of the league moving forward.

I enjoy the league and sim still but I won't lie when I say i've hit my limit on the boards. I was involved in the last one and I hate that I was because its just become irritating at this point. I work a stressful job where I fight argue with people way too much as it is. Don't want to log on to something I try to enjoy and read or participate in the same things.
Contemplated quitting a few times lately but I get attached to my team and players like to see where thier careers go etc. Especially with Alomar, Bernie and Thomas etc.
Not going to comment on individuals like LA said because that'll solve nothing but make more issues. Things just got change for everyone.
No matter what I do like the league. Have been in it since the start. Try to help with whatever I can and appreciate all the effort/time you've put into it for people to enjoy, Chris.

Ya things have gotten out of hand and lately it's gotten worse. To the point I've stopped checking have the thread because it's just full of useless personal attacks.
That being said I'd prefer to not see the league fold. I enjoy being here and I believe if we can just all take a step back from the personal attacks then this can become an even more enjoyable place.
At the end of the day if you have a problem with a person on an individual level, it doesn't belong on these boards. This isn't the place for that.
If you have a problem with a person for a league related reason then it can be sent privately to Chris. But these are not petty problem these would need to be serious issues. Outside of that nothing needs to be publicly posted on the board.

I understand that i've been a decent chunk of the negative discourse lately, I also know that all I can do is control what I can control, and that's me and my reactions. What doesn't jive with me is the gaslighting and harassment meant to make the part where I control what I can much harder. I have impulse control issues, and that should be obvious. Anyone who takes advantage of those issues for their own amusement and then acting like they've done nothing to contribute to the issue need to give it a break. I'll change the things I can, and keep to myself the things I should from now on. I used to never think i'd consider leaving this league, and i've been here since the beginning, but lately i've had to think about it more than once for my own mental health. This is a hobby and things should never get to that point. That said i'm more than willing to let the past go if others can do the same. The circular arguments are beyond tiring.

I PM'd Chris, and I also am not going to call out people individually. I think we all want different things from this, I personally love baseball, and I know there's a lot of guys in the league that don't watch, so me wanting just lots of baseball love and discussion isn't what I'm going to get here. I love ootp5 leagues, like Mark, I too have thought of leaving because I'm so tired of all of the board BS. I've turned in to an old get off my lawn guy, I wish I could be more like Dale and just let shit slide off my back. My biggest issues are the constant trolling, constant comments in other teams trade threads, treatment of certain GM's, ie old Yankees, Rangers, Break, etc. The other issues or concerns I have can be discussed with Chris if I have issues/concerns. I, like lots of guys in this league sometimes feel like I have to also have the last word, and that contributes to issues. I have nothing personal against anyone, I just wish we could get back to baseball and civility. The league has become a mirror of society and social media, which I don't enjoy. Age differences are probably part of it. I apologize to anyone who I've been overly personal with. As for the league, I think it comes down to what Chris wants to do. I sometimes feel like his heart isn't in it, but that may be because of all of the drama, as well as how busy he is. I'm hanging in for the restart, but if the restart is just a continuation of the things that take away enjoyment from me in this league, at some point I'll probably be done. It's sad, I, like lots of you have been in this league since the start and playing OOTP forever. We've chased away good GM's, including Jeremy recently. We all need to be better.

I’m mainly here because I’ve been addicted to OOTP5 for roughly 20 years and every other league I’m aware of has basically died at this point.
The boards here are just exhausting though. Most leagues had a bit of bullshit but this league has been about 75% bullshit ever since I started. (I still remember Shale flying off the handle at me literally for just placing a waiver claim on a guy.)
I don’t want the league to go away and I’ve become attached to my team, but I wouldn’t be opposed to just saying screw it and doing the reboot now with a fresh slate. Not sure if that would change anything though.

Its gotten worse lately is the biggest issue. Threads meant for meaningful conversation have turned in post pads of negative behavior.
If need be open a new section of the forum for gripes about individual and rants if people absolutely need a place here to bitch about each other. Atleast that would keep this crap out of the threads that have meaning.
Still would just rather keep it off the boards entirely but if it's not possible. Which I believe is probably the case.

I'll apologize as I've been a big part of the problem lately. I've tried to help eliminate the issue and with school starting, I'll be coaching 3 sports this year, so time will be much less than summer.

Think some take stuff to personally....dunno I pretty much always read these boards by sorting by newest, and it's a fucking pain in the ass when you just want to check if your waiver claim went through and you have to sift through three pages of flaming to get there. And yes, I know I could avoid it by just going straight to the thread, but the point is that we should keep the boards generally focused on league activity. |

I always comment on trades in every single league that I've been in.
There is no need to take my comments personally in trade threads.
