Still working getting caught up. Here's the 1962 Ballot. Couple of decent chances at new HOF members. As usual, I'm not sure what stats everyone looks at when deciding, so the HOFFBL reference page for each player will be linked with their name below. 2 carry over from last ballot. Any chance that poll results can be hidden? Seeing the voting results can easily have an influence on whom one votes for.

For a HOF ballot in which no GM gains any points from an induction (I personally think that the team that a HOF inducted player played the majority of his career for should get like 5 points for the induction but that's up to Chris), there shouldn't be any influence on voting. I get your point for the fireman and manager polls but I don't see it applying to this particular poll to the same degree. Again, I think GM's should get compensated for one of their players earning an induction, but that's non existent at this moment unfortunately. |

For a hall of fame ballot, you look at stats and make your own determination and no one else's opinion should have an effect. If someone uses the influence of other GM's to determine whether a player had a HOF career, those people need to look in the mirror and ask themselves if they actually know how to evaluate talent and statistics.
I've had numerous arguments with friends over the years telling them why Eli Manning and Ben Roethlisberger both deserve to be inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame. Quite a few people I know disagree but no matter what they say, I know what I know and what I know is that despite various forms of criticism, both deserve to get in right now with their 2 rings apiece and numerous other accomplishments that don't get discussed enough. Nothing anyone says could influence my opinion because I represent what I believe in. People that don't stand for something will fall for anything and I hope as few GM's here as possible fall into this category.

No one in MLB history has cracked 100% in the Hall of Fame voting. And every year people are surprised when someone like Griffey fails to reach 100%.

Because they disagree they must be mental patients? that would be the implication of the above statement, yes  but then again, who knows maybe they think that the majority of QBs that have been elected don't belong, which would bring merit to their position, if I was the one appointed as the arbitrator of valid arguments against said electing the two aforementioned QBs to the hall. |

Some of them send in blank ballots every year and get to keep their vote. It's asinine. |

If you aren't voting for once in a generation players you deserve to lose your vote to a more capable voter. Guys like Randy Johnson, Cal Ripken, Pedro Martinez, Greg Maddux, Ken Griffey Jr should be on every ballot.

Some of them make it very public they send in blank ballots on protest for Pete Rose, a guy who everyone knows did what he's accused of and didn't start showing any remorse until he started realizing he's gonna die and never get in.

Bonds and Clemens are in their own category of guys that would've gotten in before the roid years. If you let one of them in, the other has to get in too. If any of those other roid guys get in, bonds and Clemens must be included to. Not sure how long this will drag on for, but that's my 2 cents. |

I agree. McGwire and Sosa made it cool to abuse peds and everyone followed. Those "records" by all need to be taken down and the immeasurable harm they did to a generation of HS kids trying to emulate them that followed in their footsteps. I agree Clemmens would have made it, and that he used to continue his career, but as much as I loved rocket, he needs to be cast aside too

but I also mentioned the harm they did to a whole generation of HS athletes thinking it was ok to do peds cause look at what the likes of conseco, sosa bonds etc, tainting the name of the game, much as hustles gambling tainted it
