so you are a fan of 1980's web site eh You sound like a marketing guy, not a software developer! I'm in IT, not marketing, so I'm choosing to focus on the content as opposed to the presentation . All I know is a 90's style BOSI looks a whole heck of a lot better than no BOSI!!! emailed to the address you have listed here

The velocity going up when you take it away in ST I've known about for a while.

There's that sense of humor you were telling me about, lol. OOTP PD report: Don Hood has lost some throwing velocity. BOSI PD report: Don Hood increases his Velocity from 6.000 to 7.000 Actual in-game rating: went from 6 to 7 OOTP: Bill D. Doran seems to have lost some power. BOSI: No mention of any decrease ACTUAL: No change OOTP: Tom Henke has lost some throwing velocity. BOSI: No mention of decrease ACTUAL: No change OOTP: Mark W. Davis has lost some throwing velocity BOSI: No mention of decrease ACTUAL: No change OOTP: Larry Christenson has lost some throwing velocity BOSI: No decrease ACTUAL: No change OOTP: Tito Landrum seems to have lost some power. BOSI: No decrease ACTUAL: No change I have 21 more examples like that where OOTP HTML tells me something decreases, BOSI doesn't, and actual rating in game didn't change. The way this was explained to me in the past is that the game rates out of a score of 100, but the rating are only out of 10. So if a guy has a 68 rating go down to a 67 rating, it stays as a 7 in the game. No idea if this is true but it makes some sense.

But now I'm going to have to fix some player numbers (is that possible??) because staring at Willie McGee being #66 just doesn't look right! Anyone know if this is possible? I would like to change some of the uniform numbers as well.

Oh, I'll probably pass then. I'd spend way to much time on this and give him a list of 20 changes...
Thanks!

They did move to a 100 point scale in ootp6/6.5, but I don't really buy that in 5, and here's why. This type of thing would not explain why the html report says a player lost velocity (going from 67 to 66, or 64 to 63), only to have the actual value increase. The HTML report didn't catch that - the BOSI report did. Also seems that any 10 velocity that lost velo would immediately report as 9 as presumably only a true 100 would register as 10. That's my thoughts anyway.

been in IT since the 80's and currently working on a cyber security degree too... and DBA's aren't IT that's data entry kidding, great work getting it up and running my fiancee is a sql dev, she gets soooo pissed when I say sql is data entry Yeah, I'm definitely not a DBA and definitely IT. I just happen to know enough about SQL and enjoy working with it. Been working on Windows domains/networks since a few months before 9/11. I do anything Microsoft related - AD, GPO, DHCP/DNS, Exchange, SQL, SCCM, IIS, Cisco, SonicWall, Juniper, Nortel, switches and firewalls, IronPort, VMware, storage/SANs, antivirus and security products, backup software, and getting ready to implement Zerto. Kind of a jack of all trades type. Been a while since I've done any real programming, and that was very low level, but familiar with that as well and have been thinking about brushing up on that to do some side work projects. Most of what i have done there has been on the side anyway. I remember i wrote spencer a program probably 10-15 years ago for his BBS basketball league and calculating finances for trade purposes. It was very basic compared to what you do I'm sure. me... I'm a guy that didn't want to sit at a desk that ended up doing hardware (at one time it was a well paid specialty but now, a 5 yr old can do it) rotated into your domain as a system admin, first with a bastardized network that was put together by 3 people with differing opinions of what the core structure would be, with zero network management integration... was... oh so much joy... thankfully as a corporation we switched to AD... unfortunately when markets collapse, luxury yacht manufacturers tend to loose business, and as a whole IT jobs became scarce... ended up as a desktop admin zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz daughter was born and realized I needed a degree... after I went back to school I took a programming class and remembered that I actually enjoyed it, and now I'm trying to get the title of jr dev at work as what I do is pretty mundane. So next month I should have my first .net project the cyber sec degree is because it is only 3 classes off the software eng degree and cyber is more fun You've got a very impressive resume, btw

oh, and if you are good at SCCM, it's a highly sought after quality, at least around here

The velocity going up when you take it away in ST I've known about for a while. So if you're trying to take away velocity intentionally with your ST file the system actually INCREASES it? Decreasing velocity in spring training to work on other areas is a long-time OOTP5 trick that I was taught about around the time I first started by people who haven't played in a long time. I've seen it decrease and increase velocity. It's very volatile but it almost never leads to a real PD in any categories so it's worth doing to pretty much every pitcher with a 5 or higher velocity.

I really need to get my shit together and start doing some hard studying on my own. I've let my knowledge from college lapse from how long it's taking me to do my degree since I'm paying for it class by class.
