The Future of The Red Sox
2004 Red Sox
C Eric Munson Age 26 1B ? 2B ? (Joe Inglett?) Age 25 3B Bill Mueller Age 32 SS Orlando Miller Age 34 LF Manny Ramirez Age 31 CF Johnny Damon Age 30 RF Tike Redman Age 26 DH Mo Vaughn Age 36
SP Pedro Martinez Age 32 SP Carlos Zambrano Age 22 SP Jake Peavy Age 22 SP Edgar Ramos Age 28 SP ?
MR Brian Hendrickson Age 22 MR Seth Greisinger Age 28 MR Jason Beverlin Age 30 MR Oscar Villareal Age 22 MR Josh Hancock Age 25 SU ? CL ?
After 3 more years, the Red Sox should look something like this. Holes remain in the back of the bullpen, and at 1B and 2B. DH Mo Vaughn and SS Orlando Miller will eventually need replacing by 2006-2007, but every other player on the team should make it to at least 2009 no problem. The Red Sox have taken steps to ensure salary is going to important pieces, so the salary of the current 2004 team before the holes are filled is only. around 55 million, leaving the team 25-30 million to fill those holes by 2004 without going over budget once the team is winning.
Targets this draft:
1B and 2B are a deep position in this draft, making one of those holes possibly filled this draft. 1B Teixeira, 1B Howard, 1B Youkilis, 2B Uggla, 3B Wright, C Mauer, 2B Cano, and SS J.J. Hardy are all possible targets to fill one of those holes. On the pitching side this year, Francisco Rodriguez, and Brandon League are both good choices to fill the back end of the bullpen. With the 7th pick, the Red Sox are guaranteed one of these players.
Overview:
The Red Sox are slowly building back to contending status, attempting to do so without going over budget in year 1-2 immediately to sustain a longer competitive run.

it aint easy being patient and that's what it takes. My first pennant was more cause the East sucked than my team being ready.

I also have never been able to field a team over 85 mil consistently so I go for it 😂 Finance wise do you run promotion days? You'll never hit 100 Fi otherwise. Also do you fluctuate your ticket prices. I lower mine for more attendance then raise themom promotion days and also at the beginning of the season and end to gain more income. Also staying competitive longer leading up to tv deal years nets you higher tv deals mine have gone up a good amount.
