All Good Things Come To An End...
The title says it all. All good things do come to an end .... Eventually. But is that sooner than later for the Team of the 90's Chicago White Sox? Yes the White Sox graced the playoffs with thier presence this year but were sadly foiled by GM Mark L's brother and toughest competition in the AL GM Darryl L's California Angels. The Sox were up 3 games to 2 on the Angels but couldn't get the final win to put away the series and ending up watching the 2000 World Series. When asked if the brotherly rivalry is heating up GM Mark noted that He'd much rather win 4 World series than lose 4. Mark noted that he believes this team has a good amount of years left behind the star power of the big 3.
Those big 3 being the core for all of the 90s Second Basemen Roberto Alomar, Outfielder Bernie Williams and first Basemen Frank Thomas. There have been rumours of a roster shift. In the past Bernie;s name has been mentioned but not as of recently. The current rumours are swirling around Franchise Star Pitcher Randy "Big Unit" Johnson, Current closer Duane Ward. and Allstar Third basemen Ron Coomer. Many fans seem to be 50/50 on whether they want the White Sox legendary pitcher Johnson Dealt. Especailly after coming off a season where many thought he deserved the Cy Young over the Winner Kenny "no one likes my chicken" Rogers. The Big Unit went 27 - 4 leading the AL in wins and strikeouts with 303. Also 2nd in ERA. Johnson is now 37 years old a time of great turmoil for pitchers even the stars. By the end of the 2001 season he will ber 38 years old and many are unsure if he can hold on to the tools that made him a star especially his velocity. Closer Ward has a few years of relief left on him but Brian Bowles is pushing him out at closer it seems just as Ward. Ward has been great since coming into the closer role after Rob Dibble was lost in the expansion draft. Finally Coomer is a pending fa after the 2001 season which is why a trade may be incoming even while on his team friendly contract.

Speaking of the Big three. Many fans on the online forums like reddit and elsewhere are not happy with the 2000 playoff performance of the Big Hurt Frank Thomas. Thomas went hitless in the series win against the defending champs the Toronto Blue Jays and then only managed a meager 3 hits against the Angels in the ALCS. Beyond only 98 the most recent World Series win for the White Sox this has started to become a worrying trend for the Star first basemen in the playoffs. No one is expecting Thomas to be dealt as the White Sox have invested so much time and money into him but it can not go unnoticed. When asked about the past playoffs Thomas declined to speak to reporters. Luckily the reporters did get a quote from Star second basemen Roberto Alomar but it wasn't what they hoped. Alomar merely hyped up his latest commercial for McCain Fruit Punch.
