JJ Hardy a little more love? At least on defense. I mean he did win multiple gold gloves. I think E/.971 is harsh. maybe average walks at least too...he did average 50 per 162 his first 7 seasons...that is average  Adjusted his Ks to Good; his 2B/HR should be Avg but I will leave it at Good Fielding was changed to C and .983 ... but since he won multiple GGs, I bumped to B. I think anyone who wins multiple GGs gets an automatic 1 range boost. |

Geovany Soto didn't play anywhere but C did he? Skip Schumaker better range in OF? Not sure how that's determined. I know he had a questionable arm.. I put his fielding into the formula and it spit out: 2B: E range and .986 PCT LF: A range and .941 PCT; but since he had limited innings in LF and no GG there, I reduced to B Range. CF/RF: not enough innings, but he can easily train / learn C Arm |

I input his baseball-ref into the spreadsheet and bumped his walks to Good and K's to Avg; he should have been Good in 2B and Avg in HR but left them at Bril and Good... Stealing was bumped to A, and fixed PCT to .955 but still at B range |

If we use 162s brills mean less. Im against it. How we do it is we look at the entire career, and average out each 5-year window, 2001-2005, 2002-2006, 2003-2007, and so on. And the spreadsheet identifies the top OPS+ stretch and copies down the average stats of that "peak" 5-year period, and then looks at the average counting stats PER 550 PLATE APPEARANCES. It's not based on 162 games played or any other metric. It's based on 550 plate appearance within the player's best 5-year period. It looks at the peaks, but averages it out over a 5-year period. |

sadly it's 315, but sometimes I cheat and lower it to 310 huh it used to be .305 when did it get increased If I had to guess, 10-15 seasons ago? We looked at the OOTP chart (.337 is Bril) and Shale's ratings and went in between. |

the one guy who should get brilliant doesn't and nobody in the entire class has it. Seems like an easy gripe. But fuck me i guess. Valid gripe. If there are like NO bril BB guys, I'd be OK with giving him Brilliant. I think he was close to the threshold within his 5-year peak period. |
