Come out to the ballpark watch on TV and see Smoltzie try for win 300 y'all.  After coming back from the early season injury, John is finally ready to ascend to the rarified air of the 300 club. and is hoping to do so on his next start which will probably be either against the Reds or the Cubs.  If he wins his next start unfortunately it'll be on the road, so all you fans will have to tune into TBS to catch this momentous event.

John is Currently 17th all time in wins, second in career ERA, and 16th in career strikeouts.  This season John is 11-1 with a 0.93 ERA in 12 games started.  Unlike prior seasons John is getting a lot of run support in most games, with the team scoring 44 runs in his last 5 starts, though the last won was a squeaker with John getting a CGSO in a 2-0 win.

John has said 300 is meaningless to reporters as all he cares about is getting number 400. at age 33, getting to 400, while doable will not be easy, but John says he is up to the task and has recently started eating far more healthy in an effort to maintain his longevity.  Reports are that he is thinking of starting a health food company called JS29.
