Welcome all you HOFFBL lovers to congratulate the inductees from 1965, This will be a regular article as we traverse the years that I have been doing the HoF vote, allowing those that were elected the opportunity to revel in the sunshine. There were two inductees from the 1965 class Jim "Junior" Gilliam and Del Ennis. Jim was an 8x AllStar and collected 3 world series rings in his 14 seasons in the majors. He spent that entire time with the Dodgers, first in Brooklyn, then in LA. Jim was known for his speed, and missed being the first 1000 stolen base guy buy 11 finishing with 989 for his career. With over 1000 walks, had he been Greek, he would have been known as an uber god. Perhaps his greatest season was 1962 when he hit .312 and scored an amazing 149 runs Del Ennis played 18 seasons in the majors, and bounced around in the league, but mainly played with Phili and Boston. As amazing as his stats are, he only was an All Star three times. He was a career 280 hitter and belted 395 dingers over his career. Shockingly enough, he never once got the chance at postseason greatness, and never appeared in any fall classic game.
