As per new rules, the bottom 6 teams will be placed into an NBA-style draft lottery.

The bottom 6 teams for the 2003 draft are:

1. NYN (20 wins)
2. SDG (35 wins)
3. OAK (50 wins)
4. BOS (53 wins)
5. TOR (53 wins)
6. SFG (58 wins)

Base combinations are:

1. NYN - 350 out of 1,000
2. SDG - 250 out of 1,000
3. OAK - 150 out of 1,000
4. BOS - 90 out of 1,000
5. TOR - 90 out of 1,000
6. SFG - 70 out of 1,000

Reductions:
- win less than 30 - 100% reduction - NYN
- win less than 40 - 75% reduction - SDG
- win less than 50 - 50% reduction - None
- win less than 60 - 25% reduction - OAK, BOS, TOR, SFG

- had #1 pick last season - 50% reduction - SFG (stacked with 25% above makes it 62.5% reduction)
- had #1 pick past 2 seasons - 100% reduction - None

Revised combinations are:

1. NYN - 0 out of 1,000 ... other 350 are unassigned
2. SDG - 63 out of 1,000 ... other 187 are unassigned
3. OAK - 113 out of 1,000 ... other 37 are unassigned
4. BOS - 68 out of 1,000 ... other 22 are unassigned
5. TOR - 68 out of 1,000 ... other 22 are unassigned
6. SFG - 26 out of 1,000 ... other 44 are unassigned

Mentioned it a season and a half ago, to add levels of penalties. Around same time discussed whether to include all non-playoff teams but there was little support for that idea.
