2003 HOFFBL year in review AL
Welcome baseball fans to the year in review / say something nice about each GM/Team
East
NYY: Back to back East pennant champs, and while Adam has had some neigh sayers, he’s got a team that is bringing home the Bacon. Personally, I loved his trade for Nomo.
TBDR: Not always sure what direction Matt is going, but he is the GM that gets the job done when it comes to the Draft, love him for that, as I never wanna do another draft again.
BOS: Still in a rebuilding stage with a nice looking core of SP, but no matter what, Steve does bring activity to the boards.
BAL: JAH looked like a contender for the East a couple seasons ago, not sure what has happened. End of the day though JAH is one of the nicest guys around, and I’m sure that Balt will be a contender again for the East soon.
TOR: Simon (who we all know is actually Doug) is retooling the Jays in hopes of bringing them back to dominance like they were in the 90’s. Was a quiet season for them, but we all know he is capable of winning it all.
Central
CWS – Mark won the Central again, but got knocked out of the playoffs by Chris. One of the nicest guys I chat with, and he often has me laughing with some of his comments.
MIN – Won the WS again, love the dude, and cant wait to go racing again with him and his son. Chris ofc had another stellar season.
DET – Poor Trevor again has one of the best teams in the league, but is in the same div that is probably the most loaded talent wise of GMs. Knowing how good he is though, soon he’ll be a regular back in the playoffs.
KCR – Dave is still trying top find the right spot for KC as it’s a bloodbath in the Central. I see him looking for his spot though to make a run, and bring a crown home to KC.
CLE – After a few year run trying to compete, Dale is retooling the tribe. A man of great musical taste, Dale will have the Tribe back in good standings soon enough. On my list for having a beer with.
West
CAL – Darryl once again led the Angels to the west title, only to be knocked out by the eventual WS winners in the first round. Darryl is a proven GM that gets his team to the post season. Don’t talk to him as much as I do his brother, but our interactions tell me he’s a chill dude.
OAK- Greg? Fred? One of the nicest guys out there, Still learning the ropes of HOFFBL, but is a mainstay here and I’m so very happy that he is here. Really like his moves the last couple seasons trying to get OAK in a position to win.
SEA – Dan had the team hummin, and is getting close to being able to challenge Darryl at the top again. Loved the fact he took a chance on the bat from Montreal.
TEX – Yikes. I can’t believe I don’t know his real name as much as we have talked. Another mainstay of the league, and always here sending me cool songs to check out. One day Tex will take the division again.
