Top 5 FA 2004 Edition
5. Brian Anderson SP Age 31 - A duration and plenty of decent innings as a reliever, he looks like he's begging for a back end rotation slot somewhere good. At 31 he's still got tons left in the tank and anyone should be happy to land him for a decent amount of $.
4. Pat Hentgen SP Age 35 - This is the man you want to target if you have a rotation hole and want to win it all NOW. Best last few years of any FA pitcher, and will still pack away the innings.
3. Gary Sheffield 3B Age 35 - Still going to put 25+ over the fence, and that's being conservative. The rest of his game is still as good as ever and he can play 3B or RF well for anyone.
2. Hector Fajardo SP Age 33 - A bit older, but has the best consistent track record of the top flight pitchers in this FA. You know what you're going to get here.
1. Dmitri Young CF Age 30 - No surprise here. Absolute stuck that can play all over the diamond and has insane power potential. At 30 he's still got half a dozen years of solid service to give, and will be hitting 3-5 wherever he lands.
