Any Kids ready for the big club? Second baseman Rickie Weeks and Catcher Koyie Hill have every intention to make the big club this year. Rickie has all the tools, but he is stuck behind Jim Thome on the ML roster. Similarly, Koyie is firmly stuck behind veteran catcher Mike Lieberthal. “I think we’re going to let Rickie work on his patience in the batter box for another season in AAA Albuquerque. He is really close and we’re going to let him fight for a bench spot in spring training. We expect the same for Koyie, but we think he has the upper hand to earn a platoon role this season.” Said GM Jmich24 While minor league pitchers Clay Condrey and TJ Tucker are also looking to make their mark on the big league team. Bruce Chen and Marcus Jones both had up and down seasons this past season on the big club. “We think both Clay and TJ have an opportunity to make the 25 man roster this season. They will likely pitch out of the bullpen and spot start here and there. Between Bruce, Marcus, TJ and Clay were going to be a real dogfight to see who makes the ML staff this year. There are likely two spots open for 4 guys if we don’t make any additional trades. It’s going to be a fun spring. We look forward to young blood and fierce competition that will last for all of Spring Training.” Said GM Jmich24

If either of the first two don’t make the roster there’s a spot for them up in Canada…
