Braves 8/7
This past weakish, the Braves victimized the Mets, Marlins, and took a couple from the Phillies allowing them to run up an 8 – 1 record with the lone loss being an extra inning affair that the Mets too in 11 innings.
The Braves starting pitching remains pretty dang stout with the four starters now a combined 60 – 15. Greg picked up a couple more wins and now is 6 wins away from tying the all time record. Smoltz picked up three wins during the stretch and now is 15 games from tying the all time record. Valverde and Rivera are tied once again, both with 40 saves, but they now both a tad shy of the pace of being able to get to 60 saves. Abbot has been on a particularly hot streak, going 3 – 0 in his last 3 starts with a 1.46 ERA.
Archi keeps lumbering along, and put another ball over the fence, and he is slowly moving towards 400 homers.
