Couple things happening this (upcoming) season:
* HOFFBL, Houston and New York City are proud to announce expansion teams to the National League. They will begin play in 1962, but will immediately take part by making draft selections in the upcoming 1960 draft, selecting 5th and 6th.
* They join the Angels and Senators who began drafting players this past draft.
* After a coin flip, the Houston Colt 45's will select 5th, the New York Mets will select 6th. The Washington Senators will select 7th and the Los Angeles Angels will select 8th.
* The players selected by the 4 expansion teams will be placed in the minor league systems as determined by the Commissioner, which will generally be based on the lower ranking and lower number of players in the minor league system so as to give such players sufficient playing time.
* The players will be denoted by an asterisk (*).
* Jen, please post that you will be ready to take part of the draft which will probably be in early October. Shale, I will allow you to run the Pirates while selecting for the Mets. We need to identify a new Pirates owner within the next few months.
* Be ready to do your protection lists! They are due at the end of the 1960 season!
