Atlanta Free agent part three:
In our continued following of the signings, free agent P Bob Wickman has been signed to a contract of $1,420,000 per year, for 1 year. This looks like a frenzy only signing, do not see Bob being part of the long term Braves plan.
Free agent C Eddie Perez has been signed to a contract of $420,000 per year, for 1 year. Welcome back Eddie. This brings solid depth for the Braves, at both catcher but also at 1st. Atlanta welcomes back Eddie to the Braves for his 2nd tour.
Lastly Atlanta got free agent SS Omar Vizquel, who has been signed to a contract of $486,000 per year, for 1 year. Omar is long in the tooth, but provides great emergency depth in the middle of the infield if injuries annihilate the Braves.
All total the Braves signed seven free agents, hoping to push the team over the top at least one more time this decade.
