Holy Cow Braves fans, after an abysmal start finally the Braves are tasting first place in the NL East. The week had the Braves going 6 -1 including a sweep of the Dodgers! The loan loss on the week was when Rick White out dueled Maddux in a shocking surprise as White has a plus five era on the season.
The painful news at the same time is Smoltz is down for seven weeks. He currently has 427 wins, one back from Maddux’s 428. Gonna be a wild fire to see if once he comes back from his injury if he can put any pressure on Maddux to pass him this year. The other stat John said he wants to achieve is break the 5K strikeout challenge. With only 71 more to go, he is hoping to achieve it this season after his shoulder has healed.
Archi has not had a homer in a while, and is still 12 away from 400.
