Free Agency started with the return of two familiar faces from the 2006 season. Matt Stairs and Francisco Cordova both signed during FA sim 1. Matt Stairs signed a 1 year deal, but if we are lucky it could turn into a second year in hopes that Stairs gets hit number 3,000. The big question mark is will Father Time give Stairs enough games to reach the guaranteed HOF number? Cordova rejoins the team after the big Stairs deal expired freeing up FA money to give him the deal that he earned last year going 14-8. The Astros signed him to a 4 year deal, locking him up until he is 38.
