As rumors grew that the Astros were losing faith in C Mike Lieberthal, he was placed on the waiver wire and suddenly a deal was reached with Tampa Bay. Julio Santana will travel with him as Brian Anderson will join the rotation and SS Jason Donald will head to AAA. C Joe Hietpas will take over daily duties behind the plate and Jesus Flores has been called up from AAA to serve as backup.
