Braves 6/30
The Braves blistering June came to a close with the Allstar Break. For the week they were four and two with a loss to the NL West leading DBacks to start the week, and finished with a loss in Colorado.
In an effort to keep the starting pitchers fresh for the playoffs, Leo switched back to a five man rotation a couple weeks ago adding Dickey into the rotation, and R.A. took it on the chin in Denver, giving up seven runs in 3 and a third innings.
Going into the allstar break Bud Smith is leading the league with 15 wins and Maddux is right behind with 14.
Closer Jose Valverde almost was perfect through the first ½ of the season, alas on the 23rd he finally gave up a run against the Dodgers. Other than that game in his other 33 appearances he hasn’t allowed a run.
