HOFFBL AL Playoff report:
Holy Beer God, the AL is on fire this season when it comes to titillation of the upcoming postseason will bring. Outside of the West, two teams in the East and Central are tied for 1st and in the central there is a third team just two back.
We will start in the west, and Seattle still looks like a shoe in, however the Rangers are trying to make it interesting. After looking like it was a walk away Texas has ridden a hot streak to close within 5 games. Can they continue it and make Seattle sweat?
Over in the East, this prognosticator had written of the O’s and proclaimed the crown going to Boston, however Baltimore said, wait a minute Jack, we are not gonna roll over, and they did not!
It looks like Baltimore is taking advantage of xtra inning games and close games to have crawled back into the fight, and really hit the afterburners to propel themselves into a tie for the third best record in baseball. Boston is also one of the teams with 56 wins, though they have seemed a tad shakier of late, and lacked the killer instinct to keep the pressure on Baltimore.
The Central is still the cats meow for drama, though this time it is not just who finishes first versus who will get the WC, now it’s a fight for survival with a chance only one team from the Central makes it. KC and Minny are tied, and Detroit is knocking on the door two back. Talk about barn burning intrigue.
