Braves 7/12
Shot out of a cannon is the phrase to best describe the Braves coming out of the all star break. They went six and oh. The week started in improbably fashion winning three straight with a score of two to one. The first two were versus the Phillies, and the third was against Houston, where Houston was bit by an error that allowed two unearned runs.
You could easily say the Braves have the best one two three punch in the bullpen in all of baseball, and without them that 2 – 1 victories would never have happened. In 80 innings pitched, they have only gave up seven earned runs for an overall era amongst them of 0.80.
The fab four of the Starting rotation are now 55 – 14, with the hottest pitcher on the staff being Greg Maddux. He is 3 – 0 with a 0.72 ERA over his last three starts.
Roger Cedeno has been pretty ice cold at the plate going 3 – 28 in his last seven games, however all three hits have gone yard.
