Bud Smith is the HOFFBL NL Cy Yong winner after going 25 and 4 in the 2007 season. After languishing in Houston 2003 thru 2005, he was traded to the Braves at the beginning of the 2006 season, and BOY has he exploded onto the scene for the Braves.
In 2006 he was the hard luck loser for the Braves taking it on the chin 12 times despite a sub 2.50 ERA. 2007 the team played way better behind him and he dropped his ERA down to 2.05 which allowed him to lead the league in wins with 25, and cut his loses by 66.7% from the season before to only four!
Part of how well he did had to be the fact Valverde could come on and close down any game, as the dude could have also been crowned Cy Young getting 46 saves in 48 opportunities and only gave up four earned runs all season in 70 innings of work. DAMN!
