Surprise Fans: 1 pt per win up to 10, then 2 pts per win thereafter, over Expected Wins* Disappoint Fans: -1 pt per win up to 10, then -2 pts per win thereafter, under Expected Wins* * Average number of wins after 10 prediction seasons.
So youll do this every year and the expectations for the team will change every year?

Yes. It's an attempt to discourage tanking (by trading away talent) because it would result in the loss of points. If you just have a bad team and you are bad, you won't be penalized.

Cool. So I just need to play 500 or above.
If I decide I want to tank I can trade away players in the offseason and start with a bad team?
You do the test sims based on the Opening Day rosters?

Yes, because at least your "fans" know up front what your motivations are and, as a result, my test sims are based on the final Opening Day rosters. In fact, I saved the file prior to the first sim, ran the sim itself, posted, etc. and THEN took the saved file and resim'd 10 whole seasons. This weekend, I will update it to show % of #1 pick, just for show.
