Braves October Part I
Braves fans, let us look back to the end of last season and look at what was a historic run for the Braves, battling diversity at every turn, yet to come out victorious.
First up was the Central Champion Cubs, and the Braves dispatched them one two three. The first game featured the eventual Cy Young winner Smith getting a no decisions versus Weaver in a that was not decided till the 12th inning.
Game two had Rupe vs Austin, and after jumping out to a 4 – 1 lead the Braves never looked back, though the Cubs did put up two in the 7th that had the Braves bullpen starting to warm up. Valverde came on for the 9th and got a save.
Game three was similar to the first game of the series, and went 13 innings with Smoltz and Zito facing off, and after 9 innings it was still 1 – 1. This one went to the 13th and finally the Braves were Victorious
