I know... AGAIN about this?
I know we recently talked about contracting, and while a league poll showed it was not heavily favored, I think we need to proceed with contraction. In reality, I'd rather stay the course and stick it out with 30 teams (much easier for me tbh), but unless someone can find 2 reliable owners in the next few weeks, I think we have no choice to contract.
Here's what I'm thinking:
- Matt will take over the Houston Astros (his home team) - he will take over the team, NOT move Tampa Bay - Contract Tampa Bay (from AL East) and Washington (from NL East) - Move Cleveland from AL Central to AL East - Move Houston from NL Central to AL Central
Optional:
- Move Cincinnati from NL Central to NL East - Move Colorado from NL West to NL Central
What about the players?
- Have a one-round contraction draft of the TBR/WAS minor leaguers - All other players are released into the free agency pool
New Realignment:
AL East Baltimore Boston Cleveland New York Toronto
AL Central Chicago Detroit Kansas City Houston Minnesota
AL West Los Angeles Oakland Seattle Texas
NL East Atlanta Cincinnati Florida New York Philadelphia
NL Central Chicago Colorado Milwaukee Pittsburgh St. Louis
NL West Arizona Los Angeles San Diego San Francisco
Thoughts?
Again, I rather not do this because it involves work, but unless we find people, what can we do?

For example Wash has a rookie BBBBB starting pitcher in the bigs

That’s worse just rewards teams that are broke. Plus I could have had way more flexibility if I knew that was coming

No offense to Cleveland, but is there a reason you want to make the AL Central HARDER? Every remaining AL Central team has won a 100 games at least once recently and Houston won 97 last year. I'm all for competition, but I also like to see the best four teams make the playoffs.

Shouldn't Houston be in the AL West? Keeps Cleveland in AL Central also.
