Braves 6/16
Braves fans, going into the week, for the season they have a record of 36 and 25. Currently the East Leading Phillies were 48 and 13. On the week the Braves went six and 1, bringing their record to 42 and 26 and the Phillies went six and one climbing to 54 and 14. leaving the Braves 12 games behind.
This week started with game four of the StL searies and the Braves won it to complete the four game sweep. It was a 1 – 0 pitching duel featuring Rupe vs Grienke and Rupe got the win for his 9th of the year, with Valverde coming on and picking up his 15th save.
Next up was a three game sweep of the Cubs which first featured a Pitching duel of Dickey getting a complete game shutout against Zito in the first game. Then in the third game Bud Smith got a CGSO too.
