Braves fans, going into the week, for the season they have a record of 90 and 43. Currently the East Leading Phillies were 102 and 31. On the week the Braves went six and two, bringing their record to 96 and 45 and the Phillies went seven and one climbing to 109 and 32. leaving the Braves 13 games behind.
Countdown to 100 is almost a lock at this point. Braves fell to 13 back again, and basically have been there since opening the season 21 and 20. Losses to the Rockies and Florida allowed the Phillies to move back to the 13 up.
The first highlight of the week was Pedro going the distance against the Padres to get a complete game shut out, eight to nil.
The second highlight of the week was Smoltz picking up his 18th win of the season, in an 8 to one rout of the fish. That was Smoltz’ 472 win of his career.
