In the continued effort to get younger and strengthen the long term core of this team, there are a few guys I'd like to move.
SP Don Newcombe: Yes, he's making a lot at 13.5 million. This is also his walk year and I could kick in a few mil in cash if it would help. He's 33, eats innings (hasn't pitched fewer than 260 for me since coming to DC), he's good for 14+ CG a season (good for saving bullpens) and his stats have been improving for the past three seasons.

SP Marion Fricano: He's another solid veteran SP that will give you a lot of IP (A End, 286 IP last season), Ks (159 last season), doesn't walk many (under 60) and throws a ton of CG (17). He's on the hook for 5 million and this is his walk year.

CL George Zuverink: He posted 30 saves in his first year as a Closer and only makes 4 million through the end of this year.
