Hoffbl end of April AL:
We’ve come to a close on the first month of the HOFFBL 2009 season and so far this is what we know.
The AL East is one of the hottest division in the league with three teams battling it out, Currently being led by the Oriels but the Blue jays are one back the the Sox are just a scant two games back. Baltimore is doing it with both Pitching and hitting. They are third in the league in batting average however they are not generating as many runs as you would think being tenth there. Their 7th in the league ERA is allowing the 6th fewest runs in the league.
Over in the Central we also have a tight division as the Indians are currently leading the Wild Card spot and are also just a game back from the Tigers. The White sox are 4 games back with a solid 16 and 11 record. Detroit is doing it with thee best battin average in all of baseball and scoring the third most runs. Their pitching sis sus as heck being 17th in ERA but 15th in runs allowed. The are also first in walks and stolen bases, and 6th overall in Homers.
Out in the West, Seattle is on top with 19 wins, but the A’s are right there with them at 18 wins. Texas is playing 500 ball and the Angels have the Als fewest wins with just 3. Seattle like Detroit is doing it by scoring runs, leading the league in putting it out of the park with 46, the team is 5th in the league in scoring.
Currently the wildcard picture is Cleveland with Toronto and Oakland a game back and Boston sitting 2 back. With the season being so young I am sure that the drama will kick into high gear and we will see changes in all the standings before it is all said and done.
The AL also has some of the best tankers with 5 teams with fewer than double digit wins. And four with 6 or less.
