Braves 5/10
May is the time of year now Braves fans, to continue coming back to the ballpark (Atlanta Fulton County ballpark to be specific) where you can be part of sixty five thousand screaming fans to root on the Braves. Of course everyone knows we’re talking about being in Georgia!
This week the games went like this:
5/3 San Fran came to Hot lanta and got shelled in game on of the series. Rupe got his 3rd win in a complete game 10 to two shellacking of the Giants. Licecum took the loss to drop him to 4 and 2 for the Giants. The Braves scored 10 runs on 8 hits. This Brings the Braves to 1 and 2 on the month.
5/4 Game two of the SFran series was a weird coaching situation, Pedro gave up two run in the first and for some reason, was pulled after the 4th even though he had been pitching amazingly to that point innings two – four. Braves ended up losing 3 to 2. This Brings the Braves to 1 and 3 on the month.
5/5 The Braves continued suckin in May dropping another one run game and ending the series against SFran with just one win in three tries. Bud Smith was the hard luck loser of this pitching duel dropping to 3 and 3 on the season after giving up 2 runs when the Braves only scored one. This Brings the Braves to 1 and 4 on the month.
5/6 The Braves traveled to Colorado and finaly some good news as they scored 9 runs on 10 hits to best the Rockies 9 to 6. While Smoltz got hammered he still got the win to climb to 3 and 3 on the season and Valverde came in for his 10th save. This Brings the Braves to 2 and 4 on the month.
5/7 The Braves got another win at the sake of the Rockies and are now up two oh on the series as Rupe went over 7 innings but got no decisions. Hanaran got the win and then Valverde came on for his 11 save. How the Braves overcame 3 errors and fewer hits to win this game is wild! This Brings the Braves to 3 and 4 on the month.
5/8 This wasn’t Pedro’s best outing but even though he gave up three runs in 8 innings he got the win to get his 6th on the season. The Braves got 10 hits to power their 5 runs to win 5 to 3. Valverde came on in the 9th to get his 12th save. This Brings the Braves to 4 and 4 on the month.
5/9 San Diego came to town, and it went well for the Braves, and by well I mean a BLOW OUT. 13 runs on 13 hits is like WOW that actually happened? Bud Smith got the easy win bringing him to 4 and 3 on the season. Bud Smith easily got his 4th win of the season, going the distance and only giving up a run. This Brings the Braves to 5 and 4 on the month.
For the week the Braves went five and 2, but the Phillies only were 3 and 4, and now the Braves are just two back from them in the East.
