Pedro Martinez quest for 300
Last season the Brave brought in Pedro on a whopping deal worth almost 35 million over two seasons. He was 35 and looking for a team that could help him get the last 49 wins he needed to get to 300, and the Braves offered both the most money and one of the best chances.
Sadly for the Braves it has turned out to be a horrible investment as he missed 5 weeks the first season, and now will be out for the remainder of this year which is over half the season. On the plus side, at least the Braves had yet to start negotiations on an extension that is now bound not to happen. Such an amazing talent that languished early in his career.
The question is will he be able to bounce back from this injury and be at all productive next season? For those of us rooting for him to get 300, let us hope so.
