NL Playoff standing June:
Out West Arizona (galo ) are KILLING it against the top teams in the NL, they are 8 and 3 combined vs the Phillies and the Braves, their Achillies heel seems to be the Astros? Not sure on this, but I guess everyone has to have a team they overlook and then underperform against. Colorado is 6 games back and really does not look to be a threat.
In the Central, things are getting tight as the Cards and Cubs are all tied up at the top. This looks to be a win or go home situation, as it looks like the wild card will come from the East.
Speaking of the East, wow what a season the Phillies and the Braves are having. We asked the Braves Skipper about the comment the Phillies GM made earlier in the week about being EONS better and Skipper said “Eons is a measurement of time, no team has more wins since 77 than the Braves… The Phillies are damn good, have the best pitching staff in the league statistically, and it would not surprise me if they retook the East lead. We will fight every day to not let that happen as this is one of the best Brave teams we have had, but it will be EONS before anyone replicates what we have done here over the last 3 plus decades.”
Currently the wild card picture looks bleak for any team not in the east. The Phillies are tied with the second best record in all of baseball.
