2010 Braves Batters
Well Braves fans, another season has passed us by, and another season where the Braves wilted in the postseason. What should we see from the batters in 2010 do you ask, well, let us take a look.
C – Ojeda is coming back, and he is one of the best in the league behind the plate and at the plate for the position. 2009 was sort of a let down season for him, but he still smacked out 24 dingers driving in 63. At 34 the Braves best start thinking about someone to replace him however, they have a few years.
1B – Green or Barker? It comes down to trade talks that the Braves are having, on the one hand Green could be on the move, on the other hand he could be moving from the DH to 1st base. Dude lead the Braves in homers for 09 knocking 26 out and driving in 105.
2B – This is now Reyes position, and he is a stud that will get on base, steel and score at will. He also just got a gold glove, so his Def is no slouch. Reyes is going to be a star for at least another 15 years.
SS – Sanchez is still the guy that is a former gold glove, but is always a thread to be a 30 / 30 guy. At 33 the Braves best start thinking about someone to replace him however, they have a few years. Over the last two seasons he has had 145 stolen bases and 45 dingers to the cheap seats.
3B – The amazing Edgar comes back at 3rd. Dude has been guarding the corner for 13 year, and he will be there for year number 14. At 33 the Braves best start thinking about someone to replace him however, they have a few years.
LF - Desmond Jennings is being called up to replace Rabe in LF as not only does he have a way better glove, he has the wheels to steal over 1K of bases before 2025. Desmond is the first of a few being set up to replace older Braves.
CF – Will once again be Cedeno. Over the last two seasons he has 57 dingers and 113 free bases. He looks to be the Braves CF for at least a couple more seasons but is getting long in the tooth. At 35 the Braves best start thinking about someone to replace him however, they have a few years.
RF – Timo Perez finally took over RF from Klesko and his bat is amazing. Sadly, he is already 34 and will be 35 next season, but his glove is golden. At 34 the Braves best start thinking about someone to replace him however, they have a few years.
Are there still some surprises?
