April is the time of year now Braves fans, to continue coming back to the ballpark Lets look at the week in review once again.
On April 18 Cincinnati came to town to face the Braves going for the Reds with shields and pitching for the Braves was Harden nobody scored in the first second or third innings, but finally in the bottom of the fourth the braves scored to run it stayed that way till the eighth inning when the Braves scored another run And then, in the ninth, the red started to rally after Valverde came in however, he got to save, and Harden got the win for his third win of the season. Harden win Aiden a third innings struck out eight only allowed, four hits and two walks shields for the reds went 7 2/3 gave up two runs, but only one run earned , Reyes and Sanchez got steals in the game and Reyes also had a homer in the eighth. April 20 also known as 420 was game three of Cincinnati versus Atlanta and Atlanta was looking for payback after losing the day before. On the mound for the Braves was Roop going against Carpenter for the Reds top of the first Cincinnati scored a run to take an early one nothing lead but thankfully the Braves came back in the bottom scored two to take a 21 lead Bottom of the third they added a third run and that proved to be the decisive run of the game. Even though Roop gave up another run in the sixth it wasn’t enough and Valverde came on for his fifth of the season Braves won 3 to 2. Attendance was 57,818 at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium Clear skies 61° with the wind blowing in from left at 8 miles an hour made the game a pleasant game to watch from the stands.
After a day off, Atlanta traveled to Milwaukee to take on the Brewers. John Smoltz took the mountain for the Braves and Milwaukee sent out Romero. It was rough going for Smoltz early as he gave up a run in the first and two more in the second and then he settled down And did not give another the Braves cut into the lead in the top of the six scoring in the run and then finally took the lead and the top of the eighth scoring four runs to go up 5 to 3 and that was the final Valverde came on again to close out the game For six of the season. Braves stalled three bases but two of their runners were caught stealing Sean Green got a six homer of the season also for the Braves..
April 23 game two of the Milwaukee series had harden on the mound for the Braves and Chavez on the mound for the Brewers. It was a bloodbath early. The Braves scored one run in the top of the first five run in the top of the second two runs in the top of the third two more runs in the top of the fifth, and they held on, with the close of 10 to nothing as hard and pitched another game, shut out to bring his record to on the season the Braves look like an offensive juggernaut with 18 hits to score the 10 runs only one homer by Lee his first of the season and rays got a stolen base for the 18th of the year . Braves won 10 nothing over the brewers.
April 24 was the final game of the week and the final game of the Brewers series as Bud Smith took them out for the Braves to face off against black for the Brewers.
