May is the time of year now Braves fans, to continue coming back to the ballpark Lets look at the week in review once again.
April 25 game four of the Brewer Braves series taking the mound for Atlanta was Roop taking the mound for Milwaukee is Hudson the game started off as a pitching tool with neither team being able to score in the first three innings in the top of the fourth, though the Braves scored a single run to take a fleeting one to nothing lead, which stood up till the bottom of the fifth. The Brewers tied it up 11 then the bottom of the sixth they scored another to take a two to one lead. Top of the seventh the Braves rallied scoring three runs to go up 4 to 2 and then an insurance run in the top of the ninth made it 52. Of course we all know what that means. Valverde was coming out of the bullpen , and sure enough he got his eighth save of the season. Oita for the Braves smack two homers, including the three run shot in the seventh. The player of the game of course was Micheal Ojeda the Braves catcher. With the win Atlanta got the four game sweep over the Brewers .
April 26 Atlanta traveled to Pittsburgh. Small took the mountains for the Braves Hebson for the Pirates, and even though Smoltz went nine innings, only allowing four hits. He got a no decision as the game went into x-ray innings, and Strickland and relief gave up a run, allowing the pirates to escape with the one nothing win an extra innings. Valverde gave up the hit that allowed to run the score. However, the runner belong to Strickland.
April 27 Atlanta was looking for revenge after dropping the one nothing game the night before an extra innings Atlanta’s new stud Harden was on the mound facing off wade for the Pirates Wade got injured laid in the second inning, and then Anderson came on in relief, that’s when things started falling apart for the Pirates Anderson gave up three runs in the third man came up and gave up two runs Broadway came on, gave up a run and then Matt came up six run. However, only three of them were earned. Harden was his normal master self only allowing three hits in the nine innings. However, the Pirates managed to get two runs out of those three hits Again had a run home run game one was a solo shot. The other one was a two run dinger all in all Atlanta came out on top 12 to 2 causing a split in the two game series between the Pirates.
April 29 the Diamondbacks came to town to take on the Braves. Bud Smith got the nod for the Braves going against the park for the D-backs. Arizona struck first going up one nothing Atlanta countered in the bottom of the first scoring two to go up two to one then the bottom of the second they scored three more For five to one lead and then the backs scored one in the top of the third to cut the lead to 5 to 2. Things got dicey on the top of the seven when the D. scored three more runs tied up bottom ninth Braves pulled out some ho Scored with two outs to take the women 6 to 5. Sedano sent a solo shot out his fifth of the year and Renteria picked up a stolen base 64,342 people came out to watch the Braves at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium, where the weather was clear skies 61°, and the wind was blowing left to right at 8 miles an hour .
April 30 again Arizona in town and this time it did not go the Braves way roof was on the mound facing Perez and Roop just did not have his stuff today giving up five ear runs and 6 1/3 innings and dropped him to three and three on the season Perez on the other hand only two runs over the eight innings. He pitched as Arizona cruise to a two victory over the Braves. 64,971 sad fans saw the Braves lose at Atlanta Fulton County Stadium under clear skies 58° wind blowing left right at 10 miles an hour .
May 1 for the last game of the three game series against Dak Smoltz took the mount facing for the diamondbacks. Both teams scored a run in the first Atlanta jumped on the back in the second scoring three to go up four to one tacked on another run in the fourth inning And the rest was history Braves won 5 to 1. Smoltz often the hard picture finally got a second window of the season after going 7 2/3 only allowing the one run in the first inning is now two and two on the season 64,991 saw John Smoltz get his 493rd win , the weather was clear skies 64° with wind blowing left to right I mean right to left at 14 miles an hour.

Sanchez and Boone picked up a stolen base for the Braves. Harden went the distance for a complete game shut out and is now six and oh on the season with a 0.61 ERA.
On the week, the braves went 5 and 2 on the week and are now 18 and 9 on the season.
