Saturday 7/30/2010: Los Angeles (N)'s Condrey out for full season
LOS ANGELES (N) - Los Angeles (N)'s right-hander Clay Condrey will not pitch again this year, suffering a serious injury in the game against Cincinnati on Saturday. Condrey was rushed to an hospital near the ballpark, where doctors took x-rays. Those revealed the serious injury, Torn Bicep Muscle. Opposing players hit .317 against Clay this season. While posting an ERA of 5.57 he went 3-4 in 10 starts, fanning 43 and walking 7 hitters.
Saturday 7/30/2010: Joel Zumaya (LAA) will miss 4-5 weeks
LOS ANGELES (A) - Los Angeles (A)'s right-hander Joel Zumaya suffered a severe injury on Saturday and will be out for at least 4-5 weeks. In the 8th of the game against Detroit he experienced pain in his throwing arm and had to leave the game. After being examined by several specialists the diagnosis is clear: Pulled Rotator Cuff Muscle. His ERA of 5.93 helped him to a 1-4 record this year. He struck out 22 and walked 43 in 41 innings.
Friday 7/29/2010: Baltimore's Rodriguez severely injured
BALTIMORE - Baltimore is without its right-hander Frankie Rodriguez for at least 9 weeks. He injured himself while throwing a pitch to Ryan Howard in a game against Kansas City. His face showed signs of pain immediately after the ball left his hand. After being taken to a local hospital, Rodriguez was examined by specialists. The diagnosis revealed the sad truth, a Strained Elbow Ligament. His ERA of 3.79 helped him to a 7-5 record this year. He struck out 150 and walked 38 in 128.1 innings.
