Braves 7/30
July is the time of year now Braves fans, to continue coming back to the ballpark Lets look at the week in review once again.
July 28, the first game of the Pirates Braves series. White was on mound for Pittsburgh going against Ryan Roop for the Braves. Pittsburgh jumped out to an early lead scoring a run in the top of the second and that was all till the bottom of the fifth when the Braves managed tied up. Bottom the sixth they jumped out to three to one lead. Bottom the seventh it was all over they scored four runs to set the final score of 7 to 1 where Ryan Roop got his 12th win of the season. Lee got his temp homer and has been a complete disappointment for the Braves so far this season . Ray got his 50th stolen base the first major league or to crack the 50 stolen base mark this season. Roop pitched all nine innings. Only giving up one earned run on five hits and one walk. 61,071 screaming Braves fans came out to Atlanta, Fulton County Stadium to watch the game under the warm, 82° of clear skies and wind blowing out to Center at 13 miles an hour.
July 29, game two of the Atlanta, Pittsburgh series. John Smoltz was on the mound facing off against CO for the Pirates. Braves broke out early, scored three in the bottom one in the bottom second one on the bottom of the fourth one in the bottom six to be out to a huge Six to nothing lead add another one in the bottom of the seventh and smalls was cruising. However, he went into the ninth inning, trying to get a complete game shut out and it all fell apart. Smoke gave up four runs valve. Arity came in to try and close it out and even he gave up a run. However he did get a save for his 27 save of the season and now Smoltz is got his 12th win on the season to be 12 and eight. it was almost a complete sell out only four people did not show up to have a max crowd as 64,966 fans showed up to Atlanta Fulton county Stadium to watch the game with clear skies of 72° blowing in from right at 8 miles an hour.
July 30. The final game of the land of Pittsburgh series. Braves were going for sweep. Harden was on the mound for the Braves going against current key for the Pirates. Harden was not having his best night as he gave up five runs and eight innings pitched. Thankfully, the Braves batters bailed his ass out and he got his 21st win of the season. Valveri came on in the ninth to get his 28th C. Sanchez smacked the dinger out his 16th of the season and that’s what started the Braves scoring and from that point on the Braves never looked back. Ray got his leading 50 second stolen base in the game. Atlanta won 8 to 5. 64,952 screening fans came out to Atlanta Fulton County Stadium to watch the Braves win the game under partly cloudy skies with the wind blowing left right at 18 miles an hour. It was really breezy to help with the 82° gametime temperature.
On the week, the braves went 3 and 0 on the week and are now 74 and 31 on the season.
