August is still the time of year Braves fans, to continue coming back to the ballpark Lets look at the week in review once again.
July 31, first game of three game series between the Diamondbacks and Atlanta in Arizona. Bud Smith was on the mound for the Braves going out against park for the diamondbacks. Bud Smith was definitely on his game while it looked to be a pitcher dual early the Braves only scoring to run in the top of the third they finally put some padding on in the top of the fifth to go up three nothing. Top of the seventh added two more top of the eighth they added one more.. Threw it all Bud Smith gave up no runs on three hits and two walks. He picked up his 14th win of the season and now four and six on the season. It was a complete game shut out for him ., which was his first of the season. Sedeno picked up his 49th stolen base of the year trying to chase down his teammate Reyes who has 52. Sedeno also had a home run a 21 shot in the fifth inning, along with Guerrero and Ojeda in the game.
August 1 are a dickie was going against maze for the Diamondbacks. This was a nailbiter. Atlanta scored a run in the top of the first for an early lead the Diamondbacks rallied for two in the bottom of the third to take A 2 to 1 lead that was short-lived as the Braves tied up in the top of the fourth. Of the fifth Arizona again took a lead to go up 3 to 2. Maze held it like that until the top of the seventh when the Braves rallied to tie it up 3 to 3 and then they chased maze from the game in the top of the eighth run scored belong to him. Braves were up 4 to 3 going into the ninth inning. Valverde of course came out shut down the diamondbacks and got his 29th save of the year. Reyes picked up two stolen bases to lead to 54.
August 2, the final game of the three game set versus Diamondbacks, Ryan Rupp on the mound for the Braves, going against Lara for the D backs. Atlanta jumped out to an early lead scoring in the top of the first and two more in the top of the fourth and one more in the top of the fifth to be up for nothing. The diamondbacks were having none of that, and put one on in the bottom of the fifth and two more on the bottom of the six to try and rally. But Roop settle down and held them and check and then in the ninth inning skipper gave the ball to Val Verde. He came on finished them off for his 30th. Save on the season. With the win Roop is now 13 and seven on the season. Guero hit a homer in the fourth. And Reyes picked up three stolen bases to creases NL lead to 57 stolen bases sedan got his 50th Steele of the season and Sanchez also picked one up so he’s three away from 50 steals.

Braves scored run and the bottom of the ninth with with only one route out. The Braves could only score 2 runs on 10 hits of so many players on base. This was the third out of the last four gains for Harden where he got no decision because he just hasn’t been getting run support. 62,361 fans came out to see the game at Atlanta faulting hound T Stadium on a partly cloudy evening with the wind blowing left to right at 10 miles an hour and a game time temperature of 67°.
August 5, Atlanta going for the sweep over the Padres with Bud Smith on the mound going against Owens for the Padres. Braves scored a run in the bottom of the third, the fourth, and the fifth inning to go up three nothing and that was the final. Bud Smith went eight innings not giving up a single run and only allowing five bass runners on four hits in one walk. Skipper gave the ball the ball Verde and the ninth and he got his 30 second save of the season. Reyes picked up three stolen bases to increase his NL lead to 60 stolen bases. Sanchez picked up a couple more for his 50th and 51st Steele of the season sedan also Now has 51 steals on the season. There was 64,953 screaming fans watching Braves bass runners Steele at Will over the Padres game time temperature was 77° and there was rain that caused a 45 minute rain delay in the third inning. The wind was blowing from right at 18 miles an hour.
August 6, Atlanta to travel to Colorado. All Dickie was on the mound for the Braves going against Lanier no for the Rockies. The Braves bats had no answer for nano, as he won 7 2/3 inning, and while he did give up seven hits and two walks the Braves could only score of poultry one runoff of that. RA Dick on the other hand, went 4 2/3 innings and got pounded with 10 hits, allowing six runs off of that. The only offensive note for the Braves was they picked up three stolen bases.
August 7, the final game of the week and the Braves had Ryan Roop on the mountain, facing Markham of the Rockies. Atlanta jumped out early one nothing lead, but on the bottom of the sixth, the Rockies scored two runs to take a lead the Braves rallied with runs in the top of the seventh and eighth to go up 3 to 2 however, for some reason skipper left Roop in the game, without any kind of pitching relief and he faltered in the eighth and ninth inning giving up runs to allow the Rockies to escape with the 4 to 3 win. Rent picked up a homer and Sedeno picked up a stolen base. This was the second straight loss for the Braves.
On the week, the braves went 6 and 2 on the week and are now 80 and 33 on the season.
